ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Thursday that the infrastructure of Pakistan Railways was being upgraded to provide better travelling facilities to commuters.
“We are updating its infrastructure and there is visible improvement in the services Pakistan Railways is currently offering,” he said while talking to a private news channel.
He said Railways is a national entity and its improvement would contribute to the national economy but only if the workers – of any institution –work honestly for the welfare of the department and avoiding politics.
The minister replied a question by saying that the government was utilising all the available resources to overcome the country’s energy shortage. The government’s measures to eradicate load-shedding have been successful as a number of power projects were underway in different parts of the country to overcome the shortage of electricity.
The concerned authorities were also taking steps to stop power theft to overcome the shortfall, he said and added that the general public’s cooperation to nab power thieves is vital.
