BAJAUR: Bajaur Scouts Commandant Colonel Nayyar Zaman praised the Frontier Corps (FC) on Sunday for successfully defeating the militants and restoring peace in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
“The nation is proud of the FC for its role in the restoration of peace and stability in the tribal region,” he said while addressing the passing out parade of 132 FC recruits held here at the Bajaur Scouts Training Academy.
The ceremony was attended by the tribal elders, members of peace committees, officials of security forces and local administration.
Col Zaman said that the history of FC was full of unforgettable sacrifices for the Pakistan’s defence. It was a committed force which always showed exceptional performance in war areas across FATA and it would continue fighting the miscreants and the anti-state elements until they were eliminated from the region, he added.
He congratulated the recruits on the completion of their training course and asked them to fulfill their responsibility with commitment. As many as 78 personnel of the quick response force unit of Bajaur Levies were also given basic training at the Bajaur Scouts Academy.
He added that peace and writ of the government had been restored in the whole agency because of the joint efforts of the security forces and the local people. He also said that law and order situation was under control and that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace in the agency.
Speaking on the occasion, Political Agent Abdul Amir Khattak appreciated the role of FC in fighting militancy in Bajaur Agency. He also thanked the officials of the Bajaur Scouts for giving training to a number of personnel of the levies force at the academy. He hoped that the inclusion of trained levies men would enhance the force’s capability.
Later, Col Zaman reviewed the parade while the FC personnel presented him with guard of honor. Several prizes were also distributed among the personnel who had shown extraordinary performance during their training.
